The root cause of corruption in India

Everyone will agree that we are one of the most corrupt countries on Earth. There is corruption in all aspects of human endeavor. So much so that sometimes are surprised when we meet with any person or circumstance where there is no scope for corruption!

We must adopt a scientific attitude and the process to eliminate this evil from our society, calls only for the integrity are useless. We need to study and understand the individuals and systems where there is no room for corruption and play / display models for the rest of the population and institutions.

First let's review the qualities of individuals of integrity.

1. Self-esteem is one of the most important common qualities of men and women of integrity. They are happy with your qualification and work can bring. And if its current state does not meet your ambitions, will seek to improve them legitimately.

2. They love themselves, their families and homeland.

3. They do not exhibit behavior such as throwing flights thrash at the place of his neighbor, elbowing each other to beat the queue, so skip the traffic signal location and calm and composed in public, follow the rules and desire harmony in society.

4. While some of them are opposed to public corruption, others are content to be themselves and let clean the behavior of others to their own conscience. But the latter should not be your acceptance of corruption, but due to practical constraints in constant opposition to an overwhelming majority of people.

Let us now examine the qualities of integrity institutions.

1. Honesty is their policy. It is the cornerstone of your business existence.

2. They build and tune their systems to be resilient enough not to fall prey to human weaknesses and shortcomings.

3. They are based on innovation and continuous improvement instead of questionable business practices.

4. They respect the interests of its customers, employees and stakeholders. Its policies and procedures are set to absorb the responsibility and accountability for each individual.

5. Unscrupulous people are struggling to survive and grow in institutions such as the accountability system requires.

Now, if an institution is bigger than an individual, are individuals who are, contitute and run institutions. Therefore, we will see why our country is failing to produce individuals of integrity.

The main reason why our country is failing to produce individuals of integrity due to the lack of intellectual independence. Sitting on top of our national executive are merely parrots just talk about what they have learned by heart. All I know is to imitate and continue the legacy of our former colonial masters. There is a subtle problem here - all those things before independence was first put in place that make us faithful servants of our colonial masters, and keep us from being authors and masters of our own destiny.

For example, take our textbooks social studies, while heap condemnation on all "bad" aspects of our culture and tradition, they have absolutely nothing worthy of note in a positive way. As a result, an average Indian is led to believe that our heritage is bad and we need to "reform" - which is the change in a manner acceptable to the majority of our Western public.

But even as the textbooks call to condemn and abandon all aspects of our native culture, non-conditional extol the "virtues" of other cultures and faiths. Our textbooks are scrupulously avoid being critical of any aspect of foreign cultures / faiths. This results in an average citizen to develop the attitude of being hostile to the country's culture and tradition - that is to its own citizens a member of the indigenous culture and tradition - while timidly towards foreigners and fellow citizens following colonial / foreign cultures and traditions.

This behavior is even more in our media (mainly English). Another simple example - in particular those of ordinary skill to frequent travelers - is that most Indians follow scrupulously the Q outside India, while recourse to normal "elbow your neighbor" when you tap side home.

To summarize our current educational system will continue to create good slaves to foreign masters, but can not create good masters of our own destiny. Upon reaching the non-educated, just follow the behavior of their educational level.

Once we got the intellectual independence, everything else will fall into place. People of integrity have a role to play - to write about what is good about them and their homeland.
