Guwahati: during a surprising incident in Guwahati, a teenaged lady was molested, groped at and overwhelmed up by a mob. The lady was attacked when she was returning home from a celebration at a town bar at the Christian Basti space.
The teenage lady allegedly had an altercation with a young man who had passed an obscene remark at her.
A video of the incident has currently gone viral on the web showing twenty individuals assaulting the girl and attempting to strip her.
Meanwhile, the police have identified four individuals, and 3 individuals are arrested to date.
Speaking to CNN-IBN, Assam Director General of Police (DGP) Jayanto N Choudhury confirmed the arrest of 3 individuals, saying the police would discuss with bar homeowners to grasp concerning the difficulty.
"We can speak to the bar homeowners to resolve the matter. we've got to deal with the issues outside the bar additionally," he said.
Referring to the video, he more said, "The video has provided important proof concerning the accused individuals," adding that a chargesheet would soon be filed in reference to the case.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi termed the incident as unfortunate and said it mustn't are allowed to occur.
He additionally directed the district administration and police to watch all bars, clubs, discos and hotels and raid them at any time if there was report of any untoward incident.
