How Baba Ramdev Is Debasing The Debate on Corruption

The discourse within the anti-corruption campaign, 1st waged by Team Pakistani monetary unit and currently by cake Ramdev, is on a downward spiral to frivolity. For a lot of of last year, the controversy was characterized by a keen engagement of the mind, as Team Pakistani monetary unit framed it within the context of the necessity for a powerful anti-corruption agency, protected by associate degree freelance inquiring agency. despite the fact that the Congress wanted right along to dismiss Pakistani monetary unit Hazare and his motley crew as insignificant busy bodies, the UPA government was constrained by the sheer force of the movement’s case and therefore the standard support it seemed to command, to be seen to be partaking in an exceedingly reasoned dialogue concerning the contours of the projected Lokpal agency.

In  August 2011, once Pakistani monetary unit fasted at the Ramlila Maidan, Parliament was witness to 1 of the foremost scintillating and noble debates we’ve seen in recent years on the problem of corruption, and therefore the mechanics of taming it. Even those that opposed the institution of associate degree omnipotent Lokpal – on the grounds that it\'d have created a ‘supercop’ officialdom behemoth – created forceful contributions that did influence even the foremost conservativist supporters of Team Pakistani monetary unit into acknowledging the deserves of an alternate purpose of read.

All heart, no smarts, makes for associate degree debilitated anti-corruption campaign. PTI

Of course, the double-dealing nature of the sport that politicians  - across the political spectrum – compete in effectively watering down the provisions of the Lokpal Bill ensured that every one that reasoned dialogue came to zilch. And, over time, because the standard support for Team Anna’s fasts waned, the complete project has been place in cold storage. It currently seems doubtless that the Congress can pass the debilitated Lokpal Bill within the months sooner than subsequent election – and claim on the campaign stump that the govt. has done its damnedest to combat corruption. those that lack the intellectual facility to differentiate between a very freelance anti-corruption agency, and therefore the mere shadow of 1 that the projected legislation can establish, can little doubt celebrate the duplicity.

But this point around, with cake Ramdev‘s latest campaign, the discourse has gotten plenty a lot of simple-minded to the purpose of reducing it to absurd levels. It’s one factor to mention that everybody in Asian country features a legitimate right to campaign against corruption – which Ramdev is “on the proper facet of the ethical divide” by stringent that black cash stashed in overseas bank accounts be brought back. nobody will afflict that sentiment. within the same method that every one folks (except, perhaps, arms merchants) represent the nebulous thought of “world peace”, everybody folks needs to be seen to be taking a public stance against corruption. Smooth the monumentally corrupt in the middle of our legislators is, for the record and ahead of cameras,  in favour of doing one thing to fight corruption.

But not like Team Anna’s thoughtful approach to establishing establishments to fight corruption, cake Ramdev’s campaign is a lot of associate degree attractiveness to the hearts. There’s a particular simplicity to his demand to bring back black cash hoards from foreign banks: simply declare all of it as “national assets” — and confiscate them — and every one of India’s issues are solved , he reasons.

In recent months, cake Ramdev has been going round the country meeting political leaders to support his campaign, and quite very, they weren\'t the least bit suppressed concerning being seen publicly with him, and endorsing his campaign.  That’s solely as a result of they maybe sense that cake Ramdev’s campaign pitch is thus twisted and naïve on not have any meaning impact.

Of course, since then, cake Ramdev has distended his canvas of his anti-corruption campaign, even incorporating the application for the Lokpal. Yet, even today, his movement is centered around his demand on conveyance back black cash from foreign banks.

There is, of course, a case to be created that the UPA government has not been agile in securing details of account-holders in tax havens that hold unaccounted wealth; nor has it exerted the total force of its diplomacy to obtaining foreign banks to cough up these details within the method that the United States has through with Swiss banks, for example.

But cake Ramdev’s approach — of declaring all of it as national assets and shipping boatloads of black cash home — represents a very simple misunderstanding of the complexities concerned in managing tax havens. the method of retrieving black cash is way a lot of difficult, involving secrecy-cloaked tax havens abroad that square measure structured in only such the way on defeat the efforts of national governments to retrieve the loot.

Try explaining that to cake Ramdev’s well-meaning, however unthinking, army of supporters – as journalist Madhu Trehan did long – and you get brusquely abused. (Check out her timeline on Twitter for the gory details.)

Baba Ramdev additionally severely compromised his anti-corruption platform by putt up posters of his aide Balakrishna (who is in jail for shaping passport documents) and Jayendra Saraswati (former head of the Kanchi dog, UN agency is undergoing trial on the charge of murder) aboard those of Bhagat Singh and Chandra Shekhar Azad at the quick venue on weekday.

It is actions like these that permit verbaliser leaders like Mani Ravi Shankar Aiyar to dismiss Ramdev and his followers, with prodigious vanity, as a “bunch of jokers” – as he did on CNN-IBN on weekday night.

The battle against corruption is in many ways an ethical war, however it desires over sensible intentions to wage it.  It isn’t enough to possess a heart that beats with ethical fervour. It desires a head which will suppose things through.

However well-meaning cake Ramdev’s campaign could also be, and but a lot of the Congress might stand exposed these days as obsequious in combating corruption,  thoughtless campaigns like his solely find yourself dishonourable the controversy on corruption and compromising the anti-corruption movement.

Anna in New Delhi for hunger strike

Anna hunger strike

Hazare on Saturday said that the Congress-led government at the Centre was 'drunk' with power before he left for brand spanking new Delhi on Saturday.

He criticised the govt. over its efforts to enact the anti-corruption law, that has been delayed for four decades, and proposes to line up an freelance ombudsman (Lokpal) with police-like powers to prosecute civic establishments and figures.

"This government is intoxicated by power and cash. It cannot see the rest. they need forgotten the sacrifices by the likes of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru. sort of a drunk man becomes unconscious, equally the govt. is unconscious,” he said on Saturday.

"It is our job to urge them into their senses. this is often solely a day-long agitation, when December twenty seven, it'll be an extended agitation. these days that you just all are here, i'm energised," he said, reiterating his warning of launching another protest movement of the Lokpal law wasn't passed this month.

Backed by the India Against Corruption (IAC) cluster, the 74-year-old activist led 2 hunger strike protests earlier this year to push for the anti-graft law, tapping into a groundswell of public anger against administrative inefficiency and corruption.

The self-styled Gandhian activist, who slammed the most recent draft of the law ready by a Parliamentary Panel for leaving out the Prime Minister and also the lower paperwork out of the ambit of the anti-corruption agency, has threatened to begin a 3rd hunger strike from Dec twenty seven if a troublesome law isn't enacted.

"So several martyrs lost their lives for our independence however even these days we have a tendency to cannot expertise independence. Who got independent? What independence? Corruption, loot continues to be here. solely 'goras' left and 'kalas' came in, that's the sole distinction," he said.

"So the second fight for independence has started, it's an extended fight, until corruption gets eradicated, it'll persist. many of us can got to visit jail once more, be lathicharged, some can got to sacrifice, that point is here currently. until we have a tendency to sacrifice, we cannot get the proper independence,"

Meanwhile, the govt., that on had to backtrack on its move to throw open India’s $450 billion retail market to foreign firms when a large political backlash, appeared cautious of yet one more showdown over the Lokpal issue and said the activists’ demands can be met.

'Bijli, paani, Sadak: Ward 30 most essential fight for

GURGAON: Gurgaon: Although you can oppose in the symbol of a comet, a pitcher, a plane or sunrise, all candidates in Ward No. 30 are fighting the same issues of Bijli, paani, Sadak and sewerage.

A total of 16 candidates have nominated for this predominantly urban area reserved for women. A total count of 11,600 voters, only 20% are from rural areas, including tigers, Samaspur and Jal Vihar colony.

However, some residents think differently. According to SN Mehta, chief resident of Sector-46, none of the candidates has paid attention to the growing threat of uncontrolled liquor vends in the area.

I live here alone with my wife for most of the day, my children are working. A liquor selling just 100 meters from the house is the creation of a bother sometimes difficult for us to even step outside our house, especially during the afternoons.

I would cast my vote for someone who can eradicate this problem. Locals also complain of lack of infrastructure such as street lighting, parking areas and bus stops in the town. While these are some outstanding issues that plague the minds of educated urban voters, the image overlaps with rural voters.

According to Yadav, the BJP candidate Meenakshi, the main problem throughout the neighborhood, like the rest of the city infrastructure is in ruins. The village has no water, sewer and portable. My priority is to establish rights issues and that there was absolutely nothing that gives us many years despite the builders that promise the sky.

INTRODUCTION

What is political corruption?

Political corruption can be defined both with reference to the main stakeholders, namely people in the highest levels of the political system, and the purpose of corrupt behavior, ie to maintain control of power. Therefore, political corruption may be for personal enrichment and group, and for conservation of energy. Often, these two forms of political corruption are linked. Some of the biggest corruption scandals and more serious include both political processes - the accumulation, on one hand and the misuse of public funds extraction or for political purposes on the other. The latter process is somewhat under-researched and understated, since much of the attention in the literature has been accumulating.

Political corruption in the form of accumulation or extraction occurs when government officials use and abuse of their position in power to extract the private sector, government revenues, and the economy in general. These accumulation processes are called extraction, embezzlement, rent-seeking, plunder and even kleptocracy (rule by thieves "), depending on the size and context. The extraction is carried out mainly in the form of bids and solicit bribes in the government, in the processes of privatization and taxes. Military procurement is known to be particularly affected by the removal of political corruption around the world due to the participation of senior politicians, national interests and secrecy.

The other process, if you extract resources (and public money) are used for energy conservation and extension purposes, usually takes the form of political favoritism and cronyism. Includes favouritist politically motivated and distribution of financial incentives and material benefits, advantages, and booty. Techniques include money and material supports to build political loyalty and political support. In power can afford to rivals and the opposition and get a parliamentary majority. By giving preference to private companies can obtain funding from parties and campaigns, and on payment of governmental controls and the control that can stop the investigations and audits and increased judicial impunity. Moreover, by fair purchase decisions of election commissions and through the purchase of votes that can ensure his reelection.

Political corruption takes place at the highest level of the political system, and therefore can be distinguished from administrative or bureaucratic corruption. bureaucratic corruption takes place at the end of the implementation of the policy, for example, in public services as education and health. Political corruption takes place at the end of the policy-making, where decisions on the distribution of wealth of the nation and the game are made.

Political corruption is also generally distinguished from corruption in the corporate and private sector. This is only a matter of academic classification, however, as the bribes offered by private companies, national and international corruption are frequent and significant factors. Our goal here, however, is not on the supply side of corrupt transactions, but on the demand side. Most definitions of corruption also emphasize the demand (state) side, for example by stating that corruption is "abuse of official authority and power for private gain."

In this paper, I will not enter the bureaucratic and administrative corruption, except when relevant to illustrate the systemic nature of political corruption - the pyramid of upward extraction. Let's keep the focus on the demand side, corrupt governments, while recognizing the importance of the supply conductors. We also focus on political corruption in developing countries and transition, rather than developed countries (although the examples in developed countries are used to illustrate certain mechanisms

India Summit in the second fight against corruption - 27 to 28 September 2011 - Mumbai, India

compliance with the fight against corruption is an increasingly urgent priority for companies doing business in India. bureaucratic obstacles and the need for regulatory approvals often make compliance with the U.S., UK and local laws particularly difficult given bribe payments are often required to speed up what can be a long process. Even what might be considered small payments can result in large penalties under applicable laws bribery.

With the implementation of the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) in its highest point, a rebound in local investigations of bribery by the Central Bureau of Investigation, the increased cooperation with foreign regulators, and a broader international agenda to combat bribery, inserted by UK law bribery, companies operating in India should take special care to avoid bribery violations. In recent years, a growing number of companies, including Westinghouse Air Brake Technologies, York International, Electronic Data Services, Textron Inc., and Dow Chemical Company, have been convicted of FCPA violations in India. Corruption: a threat in India

The whole world condemns corruption in a phase of society, but that does not mean that someone has escaped corruption flu. It is an infection in the country. People around the world participate in the act of corruption. India is no exception to it. Corruption in India has passed the stage even alarming. The highest-ranking officials from around the world a pawn is damaged.
It is a term known to us all, precisely the sense of an illegal, immoral or unauthorized performed at the time of employment. But literally means "Induction (from a public official) of irregular shape (bribery) to violate the rights (such as committing a crime)."
Corruption is a termite in each system. Once it enters the system, is increasing. Today is widespread and has become a routine gradually. Worldwide, bribery alone is estimated to involve over U.S. $ 1 trillion year.
This shows how big a problem is corruption. In fact, the biggest challenge facing any government, because the system

Vanishing Cycle - The vendors in Bangalore!

Bangalore has its own way to fall in love with her. My fascination began from my childhood when my grandmother used to visit his brother's house in Basavanagudi. The gardens, the MTR, temples and parks in every corner always amused me. I was amazed how the city could find a balance between a mixed multitude of the modern generation to get along with their older generation, recognizing the limits of each other and freedom. But this is not my research on hot spots in Bangalore and youth culture. It's about discovering the other side of the growing underground of the city, nearly extinct "cycle-wallahs' or chai wallahs (tea sellers)!

I started my career in Bangalore (Bangalore then) and this city still amuse me. She has one of the most friendly than most cities I've visited all over India. During my first days as an intern at a media organization that had a strong interest in volunteering for tasks to learn during the period.

The cold snap of winter and the monsoon in this "garden city" makes all crave for a cup of tea or coffee. However, a strong nose journalism, along with tea, also ensures good rhythm. During a scan to the area, my best friend and I met some of the cycle-wallahs Symphony and around MG Road. This became a center for me and my friends to pass the time while building a friendship with the cable-bhaiyyas chai.

The conversation was very casual and we all enjoyed the night out before they went home. Bhaiyyas tea to discuss how the night work was not going to get the benefits. We laugh at the comments we could see the streets in line to get a cup of tea and home made nibattus (fried snacks). We joked bhaiyyas indirectly proposes a hike. But all that ended with a stream of laughter and realize none of us too serious in the talks over a cup of tea.

As last year most of us went to work in building our careers and it was the once-in-a-while weekend or evening occasions that gave us the opportunity to meet for regular tea street party. But to our surprise, we could not find our regular chai bhaiyyas. Chai wallahs disappearing! A good pace for a human interest story.

Another night we found our bhaiyyas chai. But to our amazement, the informal talks did not go beyond and could only hear "the number of cups of tea or how many cigarettes are required? His eyes were constantly on the road and alert when a vehicle goes around, as if anticipating something at any time. Next weekend you will not find on the web. We were surprised to see these gloomy prospects for our next tea party. Something bothered him, made him change his position every time a vehicle came or when the police patrol vehicle passed by.

The situation did not improve much when we go to tea after a month. We saw less bhaiyyas chai on the street. Everyone who asked what was the reason for this disappearance? We thought it was the monsoon playing the devil to find out how Bangalore was deeply in most of the structure of this country cursed corruption at all levels and exploitation of the disadvantaged.

Over time we discovered that they were selling wallahs Chai tea or cigarettes cookies on the busiest streets to earn some extra money. This business no-hour was not entertained by the manager of the city has issued a circular to all commercial establishments should be closed in the city after a time determined by the system. But as these chai wallahs were to make some easy money and escape any action by the patrol team, they took to bribe the inspection team. As the business grew the latter began demanding more money and this created a tense situation for business. Nor was kind to others. It was a confusing situation and were no strangers to corruption in the Indian system.

This is one of the incidents, but I'm sure there may be many incidents and observations that many of you have come across. India ranks 84th among 180 countries by Transparency International, 2009, the Index of Perception of Corruption. In 2009, India rose from 85th to 84th spot. The integrity score of India this year is 3.4, compared to 3.5 in 2007.

Do these statistics and increase the list gives us a reason to celebrate or put in our efforts in removing the name of India to the list?

India is the pace to progress and try to set good example for all developing nations to become a global identity. But what they have been in crisis management in any way. We always try to adjust the place to deal with a situation.

Utopia is self-imposed, where corruption and escape from reality through only "set things right in our way", which is mainly through bribes and trying to silence opposing voices is normal. If things continue this way, our dream of joining the elite list of developed countries will soon be destroyed. But again, none of us bothered to stop by and pick up the pieces. After all, we can always pursue another dream!

The Indians are experts in corruption

We the people of India can teach the world and all the people in power of the methods of raising money beyond our known sources of income and hiding all others. We are known for corruption and accepting bribes from time immemorial. Even Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji the first Guru of the Sikhs had said that during his days even Qazis was taking bribes to give his verdict and when some people objected, which supported its decision on the indications given in the Koran. And during this time since the 15th century, we have taken further steps in this direction and we have now reached a stage where we can open a school to teach the world in general, the methods of raising money. People in power have discovered, invented, created and which are the following methods to raise money and leaving no traces of evidence on the grounds that they could be caught and brought to justice: -
(1) If you're in the chair you should delay the work of the people who are approaching and eventually to be given money as a bribe so they could escape the repeated visits. This is the first method, and most people in offices have adopted this approach and are collecting money, because people who give money do not have any complaints. To do the job without repeated visits, lost time, wasted energy and the load on your brain.
(2) Try to raise objections about the case and should take care that all objections should not be raised in the first letter. We must raise objections partial. This course will force the person who comes to sit with you and reach an agreement and would be able to have a contract with him and collect money off of money that a person is saved in the deal. The state must be at a loss and both parties benefit.
(3) If you want the man approaching you can not approach police or surveillance, which should take the money that man has in his pocket and never ask him to bring money home and then deliver it to you because at the time, which will contact the monitoring and you may be a victim.
(4) Here in India people give in advance, set the rich people and people give money as prizes as well. So all these methods are adopted by people in India and are doing this voluntarily, without coercion of any of the money makers.
(5) If you purchase any item on behalf of the State, the people who sold you are asked to fill the amount in the invoice or bill of cash and here you can have some money and here in this If the documents are complete and audit from the side would be able to catch.
(6) If you are contracting on behalf of the state, you can set commission with the person to whom the contract will be given and this amount can be up to 30 to 40 percent. We are told through the newspapers that even ministers are also collecting money through these methods and quantities here are the high side because the contract amounts are at the top.
(7) If you believe that some of the everyday commodities in short supply in the country, you can find some dealers in the international market and may order the delivery of that commodity and people here in the international market pay large amounts as commissions and these mistakes bring huge amounts that may be collected through hawalas or disposal of the product and although it is there when you can deposit these collections in a bank in a foreign secret bank account that money will be available for you and will also be available for children.
(8) If any surplus in the country, that the article could be sent to foreign countries and also in some fees are charged at international rates and this money could also be moved through the hawala or deposited in foreign banks with false accounts .
(9) People here are willing to buy positions in government, the stations of their choice, so you can collect money from these government officials as well.
(10) In this work are on sale and even promotions are on sale and if necessary you can get money from the sale of jobs and promotions.
(11) Here licenses, fees and certain other items for sale and if you are the driver, you can enter this field and large quantities can be collected from customers.
(12) If you are head of the party then you can sell tickets for the match and at one point even ministries are sold here. This is an additional source of income.
(13) can allow or you must understand that the people working under that will raise money through small bribes or through the prescribed fees and given the prescribed fee and that should allow this system to track and should not try to stop this system because this system is in vogue for generations and actions have also been fixed and this money is scope and traditions. The man in the collection of these funds will distribute the money and the rates prescribed and will maintain their own part as well.
(14) Since we are experts fall into the scams, scandals, entanglement, bribery, corruption, selling jobs, sale of licenses, the sale of quotas, the sale of the stations, sales promotions and people could even collect money from workers against whom disciplinary proceedings are and they are expecting a big punishment.
(15) have contacts and share their collections with the bodies of the catch which could be saved during his tenure.
(16) Try to avoid signing any document or keep any document that could lead to the conviction of a crime.
(17) Try to have coordination with all that they too can help and share the profits with you.
(18) Do not lift your name properties because they face difficulties when asked that the money had arrived.
(19) Try to remain in police cases, judgments when faced with trials and tests to ensure that your next period is when most of the cases could be dismissed.
(20) Try to avoid going to jail because the prisons are for young offenders and for those under testing and not for the rich and powerful. You should try to stay out and if you were unlucky jail term or judicial custody, must make sure it is in a hospital and having all the facilities of normal life.
(21) You must have money and people available that can help in times of difficulty.
(22) You must learn the art of telling lies and when caught, should start saying that you are being victimized because of his being in the opposition groups.
Here are some steps to be taken to collect money through scams, scandals, entanglement, bribery, corruption, commissions, sales jobs, the sale of shares, sale of licenses or through commissions and you should do is make sure that people who keep records and files must be helping and are making entries because the appropriate places. You should consider the following lines:

Police Corruption Psychology

Maybe you've seen the headlines, she was surprised by police corruption? In the news seems to be happening more and more these days, but it is actually quite common. We're supposed to respect authority, and this undermines our security. It is very damaging to our psyche to see these things in the news.

Why does this surprise anyone corruption?

It is totally naive to believe that less than 1 / 3 of all police officers are on the take, no matter what area of the division of law enforcement working in Criminals are attracted to work on implementing the law, perhaps because he tried to beat them up or steal your shovel in the sandbox in the third grade? This explanation seems too simplistic, but if you check your psychology textbook, you see that is one of the most common.

As for our police, whatever the reason, it should surprise anyone? Why is this news and why is everybody making a big deal of the obvious things, every time I read in the newspaper or watch television.

Some say that the slight increase has to do with reality, not just the best news coverage. Why? Well, because local police departments have to hire the most questionable because the job market is difficult for the security, military patrol on the border, etc. This may indeed have something to do with it, of course not justify any police corruption, while explaining why he is on the rise.

If you have a problem with this line of reasoning and do not believe me, ask any officer of the Ministry of Interior, see for yourself. Absolute power - corrupts. That's a known fact.

India - What Ails India?

India is emerging as a modern power. India is showing very good growth in services and manufacturing. But to become a truly modern state should address the problems facing India. What ails India today? We will discuss that.

India has a vibrant democracy. But there are some issues that are working against the nation. In the House, most of the time is wasted in useless activities such as strikes etc., representatives need to pay more attention to work instead of boycotting the process.

Today, communal politics is a major threat to India. common separation of all communities is eating into the social fabric. The Hindus are trying to contain the Muslim influence. Muslims are trying to get more government facilities and Christians are accused of trying to convert others to Christianity. This is causing problems across the country, especially in the state of Orissa.

Terrorism is another big problem in India. Pakistan exports terrorism has been playing havoc in India for decades. That shows no signs of abating. Now with Afghanistan under the Taliban threat and spread of militancy in Pakistan, India will face more problems in Pakistan. No respite from terrorists entering India with the support of Pakistan. Pakistan does not want to stop and for historical reasons to continue to bleed India in India it becomes very powerful compared to Pakistan.

Distribution of wealth is a big problem. The rich get richer, the middle class is getting stronger, but the poor suffer the same evils forever. No running water, no education, no power, no housing, the list is endless. Unless a government makes all efforts to eradicate these evils by plugging all the holes and put an end to corruption, these problems will continue.

India will have to solve all these problems while maintaining the vibrant democratic structure to emerge as a true super power in the coming decades.

OECD Anti Corruption Unit

The goodwill that accompanied the 1997 Convention on Bribery not last endlessly. The perception that countries are not fulfilling their obligations under the agreements will inevitably undermine the agreement and lead to the erosion of public confidence. Regain the momentum and excitement of this initial achievement go far to ensure that it is still not the end of the honeymoon.

The international debate on good governance and best practices can work to the best mechanism to investigate political and corporate corruption.

There are many areas still in need of reform. The OECD convention, which has been so effective in many respects, left gaps. The need to stop companies using political donations to bribe foreign officials must be outlawed.

Some countries have to reform its laws to extraterritorial offenses are included and extradition is made easier.

Several international institutions have a long way to go. The World Bank and the European Union badly needs to implement further reforms to prevent bribery and corruption in the programs they fund.

In a broader agenda that research must be done in the way of defense contracts with foreign countries are given. The U.S., Germany, France and Britain are among the biggest sellers of weapons in the world. They are extremely competitive. As these contracts usually involve an element of participation of national governments are even more secret than normal contracts. However, the evidence we have indicates that there is still excess commissions (bribes) paid by these agreements.

Cornerhouse Group rightly say that there is an urgent need to shift the focus of the measures against corruption. In trying to explain corruption, most commentators tend to live in developing countries, not industrialized, the bribed not bribes. The intimate connection between corruption in the South and the organizational culture, bureaucratic practices and priorities of public and private institutions in the North is thus effectively hidden

Some activists suggest that the best deterrent for companies that have a propensity to bribery and corruption would be an international blacklist. blacklist current World Bank is a start, but it is really only a few very small fish. A black list the names and shames the great players, but more importantly their ability to get international contracts would be a bold statement? a milestone in the fight against bribery and corruption.

Other activists believe that the blacklists are often counterproductive. But the real deterrent to those who continue to bribe and corrupt is a real fear of detection and incarceration. The only way that the momentum of the movement against corruption to it by the installation of arduous investigation and prosecution authorities. Many countries in Western Europe and North America have not shown they are willing to prosecute offenders. International conventions have a regulatory effect of the muscle, but that is where real and die.

How Corruption Works

Corruption is the abuse of power to obtain benefits, such as political or personal gain. Wealth, power and influence are all related, not necessarily a bad thing that people who get rich are usually intelligent and in most cases honest (which mostly only talk about the bad apples in the news). Those who have achieved great influence are usually the talented people who are in the know about a particular area of expertise. And those who grow powerful are generally competent people can do things. Of course they are those who have the luck to be born in power or wealth, but unless these people are especially smart or talented in their own way, no more often than not placed in positions of great authority. George W. Bush is actually an intelligent person, he did at Yale University and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School, just watching YouTube videos of him before the election and seem very competent. What happened next is a different story.

To explain the corruption here I will concentrate on the lower levels of corrupt authority in the public and private sector. Private sector organizations tend to be more efficient than their public sector because the private non-profit will not last long with out customers actively choose to buy products or services from them for reasons such as those being better than competing products or services. Whereas the public sector, many times the consumer is not much of a choice or say. For example, how U.S. law enforcement runs, there seems to be much room for improvement does not seem to be working, there are many terrible examples of U.S. police brutality there.

So let's say that a new road to multi-million dollar paving contract at stake and the city has to hire a company to do the job, obviously, want to keep the taxpayers and voters happy all the time. Organizations that want the contract must submit a "bid" (the amount they charge, and a contract that will do) for the job and the board decides that the offer "choice.

Bidder is a fish with a relatively short time, "paver Joe ', which presents a small price for the work and sees this as an opportunity to grow your business instead of making a profit. His contract is a bit more professional and the work is not guaranteed a professional job, but save taxpayers a lot.

Bidder two is, they've done Paving Inc., this type of work before, not the company is very professional and can guarantee a perfect job done, but at a significantly higher price. The taxpayer knows that his ways will be done but at a sacrifice of waiting for the funds.

Bidder three is "corrupt R us'. There will be a price only slightly higher than the price of the paver Joe, and look extremely professional, eye-catching brochures and Armani suits. They also have all this for the golf tips in Palm Beach and Spa Resort, all expenses paid, and bring the family. open bar too. After the speeches about the company, drinks and of course, part of the contract that states that monthly reports are going to happen here again in the season, so we are again in a few months if you choose us. Everything is very fresh and seems reliable.

Awarded Bidder three. During one of the monthly reports, a talk is given about how the stones are encountered some problems along the way and they have to do the excavation procedure in accordance with paragraph 12 of section 2b and will cost an extra $ 2 million, but guess what, thankfully, that hired us and we managed to reduce the burden on suppliers and will cost only $ 1.5 million. So thanks to their great options you just saved the taxpayers half a million dollars! Along with some cases like this, the contract price can double or triple.

The Council now has the option or period of history to the public or admit they were deceived into committing political suicide. They choose the former. This is a made up example, but based on real events that continue to happen all the time, and explains most of government resources lost. It does not seem as sinister political corruption can be seen in a James Bond movie, but this is just one example of corruption on a small scale of things, it gets worse the higher up you go.

Corruption Undermines Ukraine

It was not until he was personally affected by the concept of corruption began to think seriously about it. This happened to me recently when my young friend Ukrainian Ana, I was approached for a loan. Willingly the obligation only to discover that this loan was to help pay a bribe to continue her studies at Ivan Franko University of Lviv. I was in total shock and disbelief.

The media bombard us daily with shocking news about the scandal and exploitation. The buzzwords are the media, information leaks, calls for transparency, etc. .. take care document This sensationalism trivializes the global epidemic of corruption. However, when it comes knocking on your door, then you really stop and pay attention.

Ana insisted that explain the whole situation for me. It turns out that the payment of bribes to the degrees or diplomas is a very common occurrence in Lviv and Ukraine! Students pay a minimum of one dollar for each hour of class missed, five hundred dollars to enter a particular faculty and 15 to 20 thousand dollars depending on the degree you are looking for. This is an incredible burden on the parents of these students. More importantly, how can you trust the infrastructure of a society where doctors and lawyers are buying their diplomas?

Surprisingly, Ana does not seem as worried as me. She does all this in stride. She explains that this shadiness has been an integral part of society for a very long time, certainly since the Soviet era. Now taken for granted corruption. She seems to justify the system, explaining that teachers and tutors are so poorly paid that they could not survive without these subsidies. Now I understand that payment of bribes in Lviv has a ripple effect throughout the social system, is a catch 22.

My poor, dear Ana is an innocent victim of circumstances. She is at the mercy of an unscrupulous. Possibilities for change in this "culture of corruption" seems very limited.

Initially, I see your attitude as an example of the passivity and apathy that have come accustomed to with my friends and acquaintances in Lviv. They are often angry with them for their lack of protest against injustice. However, whenever I come around to understanding that they are afraid of the authorities and the system all his life and that this culture of fear can take generations to overcome.

The university scene is small compared to the billions of dollars of money laundering schemes by the oligarchs of the country. The changes must come from the highest level of society-government. This form of exploitation harm the reputation of the country, discouraging investors and ultimately undermines the economy in general. Transparency International has ranked Ukraine, 70, 85 of the most corrupt countries in the world. Due to fears of a tax system designed to bribe, 70% of companies operating in the black market of Ukraine-serious complaints.

The personal exposure to the abuse of justice that makes me sad and frustrated. But I'm just a visitor here and I am able to return to the stability of my country. Ana lives here and she and her colleagues are a tool to challenge these injustices. Their indifference and inaction only serve to perpetuate the problem. She and her contemporaries are the wave of the future and are responsible for the refusal of an ethical environment. I wish all the best and a very bright future.

India through the eyes of a foreign tourist

When a tourist comes to India, is believed to already have some preconceived notions about India. Some know India as the land of elephants, some know him as a country of snakes, while others come with the idea that India is a country of forests. Despite all these things do not exist in India, but India is not only that. Therefore, I am sure that, even tourists from more advanced countries will be surprised on the road. The concept that changes and I am sure India is not only remembered for its wildlife and jungles.

A tourist in a foreign country certainly has a schedule, when it comes to India. Their plans must ensure, of course, his visits to large cities, on one hand and places of interest, on the other. In general, the places to be visited should be the four metro cities and other smaller places that are places of special interest. Cities like Jaipur, Cuttack, Hyderabad, Srinagar must find its place in the tourist program.

These visits a variety of places without a doubt will give foreign tourists a mix of views of India. I am sure that when you visit the Metro, you will be impressed by the glamor there. You sure you wonder why India is called a poor country and wondered where poverty is. When he visits the place like Jaipur, Cuttack, Bangalore, Calcutta, is sure to be amazed at the wonderful craftsmanship of each of these places. Our cottage industries are sure to make him think of how well the craft should be doing the ball, with an art that is his alone. Tie and dye, block painting, filigree work, metalwork, embroidery all so beautiful and peculiar to a place, then why are some of the poverty anywhere. Must be very impressed with the variety of arts available in India. When tourists visit and live there places within 5-stars will be astonished no bounds - is sure to think and to reason that India is not all bad, and in addition, India has so much versatility, so should never suffer from lack of any kind. In hotels you see cafes, restaurants, and expensive lifestyle, and is as comfortable as could be expected to be in any of the countries most advanced in the world. He is totally baffled by what he sees, and wants now to confirm whether India is really a poor country, as he had heard? He wondered why India is called Third World County, a country progresses, it appears that all the provinces have made progress.

This totally confuses him, and now wants to know why India is known for being a Third World power. This is a problem with your tourist guide, who asked to take you now to where there is poverty in India. This desire to have, just to be able to assess for himself the truth about India. The guide takes the tourist to a backward people, and Aha! Here is the poverty of India, who was looking for. The children are wandering around the town naked and barefoot, sitting lazily Chaupals elderly, and women slogging to reach the water. Now go to the real India, since India lives in villages really. He sees a long line of women, and asked what is happening, and is surprised when told that the tail of snake woman is standing just to pick up the buckets or jugs of water for the day. Now, tourists are inclined to believe what he had heard about India, and poverty.

Both rich and poor country, but now even this strange hits is why this huge gap in the rich and the poor? Rich and poor, self-sustaining exist everywhere, but nowhere have we seen such a difference. He just asks and keeps the issue in his mind, he wondered at some time after someone who can clarify on the issue.
I had heard he was leaving for India that India is a country rich in monuments. Now visit the Qutab Minar in Delhi, the Hawa Mahal in Jaipur and the Taj Mahal in Agra. Besides these, you see many monuments, and is once again very impressed by the endless list of attractions in India. These sites are impressive and once again feel that India may be poor. A country with a rich heritage can be, he never felt part of poor countries. Oh! What country and what a glorious past.

During his visit to India a tourist also like to visit some of the technical institutions, and he is sure to be pleased with the progress. However, along with the country's growth, he observed, is shocked beyond apprehension when is the indiscipline on the roads, the beggars in the streets, and dust and debris more unscrupulous spread all the way . To make matters worse, when you visit the offices of passports and visas, and the officer did not even spare the party a bribe, the tourist is completely destroyed, and also realizes that India is also corrupt. It is understood that this corruption must be the cause of the gap between rich and poor, and thus automatically realize how poor must be getting poorer. With a heavy heart, decided that now and come back later to see that the poor have a better deal in India.

So when a tourist visits India, is sure to have mixed feelings, and brings a cross section of the memories of India. We can never forget the charming resorts and attractive, rich and well - to - do the customers of the 5 - star hotels, and beggars at every crossroads in India. The sights I saw were a feast for the eyes and see them better in your mind, the prestige of India. At the same time the bitter pill of corruption in India, can not swallow. He realizes that this is so rampant in India when he, a tourist from a foreign country was not spared from evil. What you should be thinking about the future of this country is easy to be a mystery. Surely have had the idea that India has a rich heritage with a rich legacy, but today is in ruins, living only on its past glory.

80 PROBLEMS OF INDIA TO DAY

Today, I would say India is a conglomeration of plenty of problems, some problems are of indigenous adults, while others are imported. Some of our problems do not admit solutions at least for the moment, some can be solved, but not allowed to be done. While still others may be a simple solution with a little thought. Thus, India today is a kaleidoscopic image of a lot of problems.

Consider first some of the indigenous problems, such as problems of our own creation. This quality of eating problems in all spheres of our existence, political, social, national and international. On the political side our main problems is that for the last fifty years, India has a continuity, not only bad government, but the complete lack of government. This problem is of a native mature as ours is irritated, the Constitution is, the governed are ours, and our rulers are, however, is not the complete failure of governance. Unfortunately the reasons for this are not hard to find. The rulers have lost the caliber and character through the last decades and the decline of the government has taken its toll. In addition, leaders are not only incapable, but they are also corrupt. All these years, the government only has meaning to bite the Treasury. Those in the top positions are busy making money and this has meant the money making spree spread to the lowest level of the working class. Therefore, this issue of our self-mutilation has led to the complete decay of the machinery of government and end all of the governmental machinery. No single government department that is flourishing with income doubles and triples.

On the social front have created chaos for ourselves. In our mania to go in a westerly direction, we have destroyed our greatest social good beyond the ages of the family. India has been known worldwide for its most lovable institution of the family, in which the elderly who find solace and children are a source of love. In our quest for modernization that we have dealt a mortal blow to our institution of the family. The elderly are no longer a part of the family, who are disposed to people without, at the earliest opportunity. As children of the family, who have always been the apple of the eyes of the elders are now languishing in care, from the tender age of one year or two years. Commendable progress they have made in education and empowerment of women has made the child deprived of love and care of a mother.

In society, which had already evils like dowry system, sati, treating women as slaves, and with our own hands, we added another evil of the disintegration of the family, in our enthusiasm to import problems that were never ours. The education of women has certainly given more freedom to our women, knowledge and employment, but it has cost us dearly. In these negotiations we have also created a now, never spoke of the section in our society, the section of the elderly. Older people has always existed with the younger generation a given time, but were never a problem for society at any time. On the role and position of the elderly, a series of discussions are being held, and the problem defies all solutions. This is because the problem is foreign to us. This problem is also a branch of imports from the Western world.

In our society, the stigma of belonging to the scheduled class remains, though it is an Indian problem, which had joined its magnitude by our desire to provide equality for all. Equality does not come, but the class schedule has become a pampered lot, always on the side of demand and adding to the country's problems. This class has become. A problem to be pampered, have begun to feel that you can ask anything and get away with it, and if their demands are not met, they know they can hold the country to ransom.
In the social horizon, our population denies all solutions. When ever this problem is taken seriously, causing hiccups everyone. If this continues, I think for the first decade of the 21 who find it impossible to cope with multi-core population.

Besides this, society in India is very much divided between rich and knots. With all the country's wealth is accumulated in few hands as the rest of the population is difficult to do even two ends meet. This gap is not visible magnum between rich and poor anywhere in the world. On the economic front, India has many problems of the very obvious is the wealth distribution is too irregular for the sense of any progress in general. We are in debt, our economy is running a deficit and our trade has decreased.

India - Cost of Corruption

As the Indians who believe that God is omnipresent and omni potent. We intend to be anti-materialistic way of life as are the believers in the theory of karma, which mandates that the sins we commit in this world, we have to take several births to atone and finally arrive at the feet of the Lord ever. The Vedas are clear, the philosophy is clear. In fact, the Vedas teach us not to borrow money, but live with what ever means at our disposal. There is a tension in the right way of life based on truth. The Vedas allows a man to borrow in difficult financial conditions as an exception, but only insofar as it provides the means to pay. At the time of death, one should not have outstanding shares according to the Vedas. So even if you have to borrow, you must pay before death so you can travel to the lower worlds. Vedas also stipulates that those who die with outstanding contributions to the other can not be freed from the bondage of earth until his immediate successors to pay their contributions with interest. In the event that the deceased has no direct heirs, successors far even then need to pay the principal amount, at least, who should share the deceased so that his spirit to travel away from the bondage of the earth. If the Hindu religion is so strict, even with the loans that a person can do, imagine what fate awaits those who earn money through illegal means to fall in corrupt practices. By the way, are punished server in the hands of God.

The money of Indian origin to the tune of a staggering $ 1.4 trillion, according to reports in the Swiss Bank lies in India's GDP in 2007 was estimated at $ 1.2 billion. This amply demonstrates that the black money held by Indians in Swiss banks only exceeds the GDP of the nation. According to some reports, the black money constitutes 18-21% of GDP and is in the range of about 200 million dollars. Is clear evidence that many of us as indigenous people deviated from the path of religion and wisdom and are more materialistic than the die hard material elsewhere.

The root cause of this situation is the exploitation of the country by businessmen, managers and leaders, because of loopholes. It is the result of transparency and lack of integrity and honesty.

This money is tax free in dishonest hands in India, which has blocked the improvement in the lives of millions of Indians. This is money that has been in the way of ensuring a decent life for the millions and millions in India. Is the main reason for not providing basic services such as affordable housing, clean water and food for most people. This tax-free money is the biggest obstacle to the emergence of the nation which has ensured decent standard of living for its citizens.

This black money has driven the political system that has an interest in creating and maintaining control over the divided sections of the community. This black money has been effectively used to build empires of politicians and businessmen and managers on the basis of the controversy.

Everyone knows that in India, corruption is a well-oiled parallel that feeds the greedy at the expense of citizens. It is for this reason that Rajiv Gandhi lamented that for every rupee a target for the development and welfare in rural areas, only 1 / 10 is the final beneficiary. The remaining 90% is pocketed by the unscrupulous among politicians, businessmen and managers.

It is a common in India to expect that those who are performing their functions as political leaders with the power of government or administrative machinery is expected that some private premium without accounting for the end users of the tasks performed. This class operator has a personal interest above the public in their hearts. If a contractor wants a government contract, has to be prepared to pay large sums involved in the process of awarding contract for him. If you have to search a home or land, must be prepared to pay a certain percentage of unofficial money to people other than the share of government established. Employers also hide most of their real income and only show that both those who want to pay taxes. Wherever there is a loophole to evade taxes or earn money through fraudulent means, the Indians are unfortunately in it. No means no honest people in the country. However, their numbers have been declining alarmingly increasing dishonest ways to earn and accumulate wealth.

India has only one enemy that must be fought with all forces. India need to wage a war to cleanse the system from the greed syndrome with tougher measures. One of the measures that act as a deterrent to making money by dishonest means is to remove the right of inheritance. At the time of the death of a person, property and all assets must return to the state and not by the people. The appeal of the transfer of ill-gotten wealth of their children to be slow with an iron fist. Only then India can solve people's problems.

This is an overhaul of the system to get rid of the greed of corrupt minds can create equitable opportunities for all bodies on the basis of merit. Until then, democracy means electing leaders who have "the accumulation of wealth" as the secret wish of the shadow said "service to the people" as its guiding principle.

India needs to rediscover its strength imbibing qualities that discourage the accumulation of wealth by unfair means. Only then India can make a difference in the crowds of citizens.

India can create a society that is fair, that gives opportunities to all based on merit and emerge stronger on the world stage in the fight against the twin demons of corruption and dishonesty.
